Our East London Genes & Health Community Advisory Group meets twice a year.
The aim of this group is to provide community-based oversight, advice on any contentious issues, and monitoring scientific proposals, reporting to the ELGH Board. Specifically, to:
- Review and comment on the appropriateness (but not scientific value) of Applications to use or access ELGH resources. The ELGH Board will categorise this into Applications for the Group to note, and Applications on which the Group's considered review is sought.
- Advise the ELGH Board on volunteer recruitment strategies.
- Advise the ELGH Board on community relations and engagement.
- Advise the ELGH Board on community priorities for research (e.g. diabetes) if resources are limited.
- Assure ELGH volunteers over appropriate use of data and biological samples, including data security and confidentiality.
- Advise the ELGH Board on any industry relationships (if required).
